How it started

"NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOWERS"

Starting in the 1940s, across three generations, we have had a long love affair with floral design. In 1986 Bernard and Barbara Powell began their business, Barbara's Flowers, in Stockport. For over thirty years they had a flower stall outside Stockport and Macclesfield cemeteries and also designed beautiful arrangements from their workshop.

Our Story

After retirement in December 2018, they noticed they had passed their green fingers on to their youngest daughter Kaye. She had inherited a passion for flowers and has taken over the business. After a revamp, Kaye has renamed the business Greensleeves Floral Design. She specialises in hand-tie bouquets and sympathy flowers.

Bernard also known as the "The Flower Man" sadly passed away on 21st April 2020. He sold flowers outside Stockport Crematorium for many years and took great pride in doing so. Bernard really enjoyed seeing his customer's every weekend, he is terribly missed.

Our mission

To provide our customers with quality flowers and floral arrangements at a fair price. We will not compromise on quality and will never use inferior product for the sake of price.
